And the blogger returns!

And The Blogger ReturnsFor those who might have been following my blog would be knowing that I had taken a break from blogging two months back. I had a lot of things going on and I just couldn’t find the time to sit and write anything! But now I think, I finally have the time to get back to blogging, or at least I hope so.

What was happening? Like I said, a lot!

  • I was in Pune doing my internship with Dell EMC till June end.
  • I shifted back home to Mumbai at the start of July and then was just trying to reorganize everything (my studies, final submissions, my room, and maybe, my life too)
  • I turned 24 this July. (I’m getting old!)
  • Weight-loss regime (that’s a WIP task)
  • Books and Movies

Let me elaborate all this in detail 😀

  • Internship

From December 2016, I was doing an internship for 6 months with Dell EMC as a part of my MCA final semester. As the company is in Pune, I had shifted to Pune for the duration of the internship and was living there with some roommates, managing everything on my own (yay!). The internship itself was one life-changing experience. I learnt not only stuff related to technology and how the industry of computers works, but also made some awesome friends, did some fun activities, went on a lot of team lunches, explored how life is when you live on your own and step out of your parents house, and so so much more. The whole things did keep me a lot busy though the life in Pune is pretty slow paced compared to the ever busy Mumbai life. I enjoyed every bit of the 7 months I spend there and already miss everyone at the workplace! 🙂

  • Coming back home

The weekend after my internship ended, with a grand party on the last day of work, I came back to Mumbai. It was one hectic weekend, where I had to pack up all the things, make sure I took everything, clear all my dues with other roommates, and then come back home and unpack the whole stuff again! Believe it or not, but even for just six months, I had about 5 bags (clothes and utensils) and a lot of paraphernalia like a small desk, dustbin, laundry bag, pillows, etc. It doesn’t seem much while writing it this way, but to take these things out of the house and into car also required several rounds!

The bigger pain was coming back home and then unpacking the stuff, since my room wasn’t exactly empty and there were things that I had bought new in Pune, so it was irritating to make room for them all and still keeping the room clean and tidy. I did procrastinate this process initially, but eventually when there wasn’t any room to move around I had to sit down and clean it all up 😛

  • Turning 24

I still don’t believe I’m 24! I don’t believe that I am settled in life, since I’m just starting out my career now, while people of my age are getting married and even having kids. This makes me feel very weird! I still have miles to go before I can even bring the thoughts of marriage, since after spending 6 years on formal professional education, all I can think of right now is to work and grab the benefits of these years of hard work. True, all I hear from my relatives and “well-wishers” these days is queries of my marriages, which leaves me frustrated as if I studied this much only to make myself marketable of marriage prospects… *shaking my head*. This is one topic I can go on ranting on!

Anyway, I spent my birthday in a form of a nice date, roaming around the city with my boyfriend, watching the movie “Dunkirk” (which is an amazing movie, BTW, if you guys plan on watching it) and then had a nice quiet dinner with my family. It was one quite relaxing day!

  • Weight-loss Regime

Since I came back home, all my mom has told me that I need to lose weight, like ASAP! Now I know I have put on quite a few kilos and I desperately need to shed them, but my body type is such that it is very very easy to gain weight and the weight immediately shows around my lower body and then it comes to losing it, it is the most difficult of the tasks! But I tried giving gym a shot again since I had a month before I joined my full-time job, where I have to wear formal attire everyday (and a fatty body looks gross in formals IMO). Sadly, all I have achieved so far is keeping the weight constant with a minor muscle growth. I take inspiration from some other bloggers and I hope to continue gymming even after my job begins, at least an hour of workout, even if it is at home!

  • Books and Movies

I will have another post or two coming up on how much I read and what all I have been watching in the past 2-3 months, but this section is just to say that I have become addicted in some ways to movies in theaters! I have watched almost 10 movies at the theaters in the past two months, a couple of them I watched twice. About books, I cannot say I have been reading a lot, but did read some quality books and books that are keeping me to the edge of my chair till I finish them, so even though the target of 50 books this year seems a little unreachable as of now (I have read 22 books so far in 2017), I definitely have read some great books!

How have you guys been? I definitely feel like I have some catching up to do in the blogosphere!

  1. Welcome back to the blogging world, sweetie! Glad to see that you’ve had time to sit down and write again.

It’s awesome to hear what you’ve been doing over the past couple of months – seems like you’ve been kept busy and working hard! Good luck with your workout routine, it’s difficult at first but once you get there, it’s awesome!

  2. Welcome back! Seems like you’ve been keeping busy! Good luck with losing the weight!

  3. Hey welcome back 🙂 I can’t believe your internship is over. I think the past half-year has gone by very quickly.

I think you probably accumulated too much while you were away, haha! I might have a struggle moving to our new apartment because even though I have been gradually reducing my belongings over the past year, I am not sure if it will fit into a smaller space. It’s crazy how much you can accumulate over just a few months. I think it might help to have less storage space because there is less space to put all your stuff

I don’t think you mentioned your boyfriend before 😉 But I think as soon as you get a boyfriend, parents always like to ask questions about marriage… too soon, too soon!

I think you should embrace your natural body shape! Some people are naturally curvy or hold weight around their middle or their hips. Even after you exercise and lose fat, it’s possible that you still hold the same shape. If this is the case make sure you don’t get discouraged. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes our genetic makeup means we simply will never get that hourglass shape!

I don’t think there is a lot of catching up to do, I think you’ll find that quite a few other people went on hiatus too (or at least that’s what I found). I haven’t been too active with other people’s blogs either.

    • Haha, thanks Georgie.
