So, I am finally doing a post in Georgie’s A Day in the Life linkup. It’s been ages since I did one! So here am I describing how my day fared yesterday. I know it’s a bit late but yesterday I was in no position to do anything and I ended my day a bit early too!
So, yesterday, I had to wake up super early, and by early I mean by 8. It is early, almost like dawn because since my vacations started I have been sleeping at 3 or 4 am and waking up way after 11. Yesterday was a special day because I had to accompany my sister, Vaibhavi to her new college to confirm her admission there. Since I am blogging after ages, let me give you some more details. Here, when were in 10th standard our final exam marks determine our future : which college you will get for your post-matric education (10+2 years of education, that is), which stream you will pursue your career in (science, arts, or commerce), etc.
My sister gave her 10th std exams this year and she scored a whooping 95.2% score and is her school’s 3rd ranker as well. So she got a seat in one of Mumbai’s most renowned college for science stream, which requires the least commuting time and at the same time will give her a good college experience before her professional career begins and we had to go and confirm her admission there. It was one hectic job, running from one place to other, getting documents verified, getting papers xeroxed, etc. It almost took us two hours to get all things done and return home.
After returning home, in about two hours, we went back out to shop for my back to college clothes. I usually prefer shopping with my mom, because she gives the best critics and I end up with the best clothes for the next 6 months! Since the monsoon has begun, the shops were all on end of season sale and though it is a good thing to shop with sales, the stock was pretty boring and I just couldn’t find anything worth buying and after roaming around for almost 4 hours, I ended up with 3 kurtis and 2 blouses. I had expected to get a little better haul.
We had a nice lunch in the mall’s food court where we were shopping, with a nice assortment of chole bhature, chicken biryani and a Subway sandwich and ended our meal with a slice of kulfi. I didn’t take any pictures :(!
But all the roaming took a toll on me and my sister and we both were down with fever! I was so tired with a horrid ache in my legs that I had to give in to my body’s demands and all it a night by 11 pm!
How was your day?
Finally finally finally! I am finally free!!! (well… almost)
So my exams are done, my results are out, we shifted houses, I finished a workshop for placement preparation…. that pretty much sums up what has been going all around me since my last post! (more…)
I just realized, as Anirudh reminded me, that there are only 28 days to go for my 21st B’day! Usually I get pretty excited about my birthdays, though I don’t really celebrate them, thanks to the awesome monsoon weather and the fact that schools and now colleges reopen around the month of July so all my friends are busy with their own lives! (more…)
Okay, a friend suggested me this title, while we were chatting on Facebook, and I really liked it… I really am jobless now. I spend more than half of the day staring at my computer, either playing something or watching something. The few things that indicate that I really am completely jobless are :
- I finished watching the entire 52 episode anime of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles in just about 5-6 days (I am totally in love with that anime)
- I finished reading 2 books in 3 days. I was doing nothing other than reading… I wish I had studied for the finals with the same dedication. 😛
Finally the post that I’ve been waiting to write for a long time! My exams are over! My final exams are done with!
Actually, I can not even express my feelings at this point. My last paper was on 12th of April, i.e last Saturday. After submitting the paper, for few moments I was in a dazed condition for a few moments. I couldn’t believe that it was the last exam that i was going to appear for before graduating. I’ve been in a celebrating mood ever since.
There were so many things that I had not done for the past few months. On top of that list is READING.
I made a list of books that I have to read and there is one condition I’ve put on myself… I’m not going to read any e-books… Though it is convenient to read e-books at times, I tend to get stuck to my computer or mobile so as to read it… Also, I prefer to actually hold a book in my hand and read it. So I’m going to go book hunting every time I need a new book.
This is the small list of the books that I wish to read in these next few weeks :
- The Fault in Our Stars – John Green
- Catching Fire – Suzanne Collins (I’ve read it as a e-book)
- Mockingjay – Suzanne Collins (I’ve read it as a e-book)
- Divergent – Veronica Roth
- Insurgent – Veronica Roth
- Alligiant – Veronica Roth
All of the above books I wish to read in the next 2-3 weeks.
Apart from that I really wish to strengthen my website designing skills and become properly acquainted with PHP, MySQL, and jQuery. This I’ll do on my own, i.e. I’ll learn it on my own by practicing and building small applications using these languages, and I hope you guys will help me with that. Also, I want to build i proper theme theme for WordPress website, which I have been avoiding for many years now.
All in all I’m looking forward to a very busy vacation. I’ve to also catch with my friends with whom I’ve hardly had any contact in the past few months ! 😀
I’ll keep blogging about how my vacations go when ever time permits!
